Problems Arise with Windows 10 May 2020 Update
Trouble with KB4556799 update
On May 24, 2020, Forbes.com reported in their article "Microsoft Confirms New Windows 10 Update Warning" that the latest Windows 10 update causes issues such as Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) crashes, deleted user data, performance issues, broken audio and more. Regarding this issue, Microsoft has stated on their support website:
"We have seen social media and news reports related to various issues with KB4556799..." and are "actively engaged with customers who are reporting issues. To date, we have not seen widespread issues reflected in telemetry, support data, or customer feedback channels..."
They also state they are investigating customer feedback and monitoring the situation closely.
Microsoft is also
urging customers to report any issues they experience so they can investigate,
and list another problematic symptom related to the KB4556799 update on their
support page that occurs after installing the update on a system with a
wireless wide area network LTE modem. This symptom, as reported by Microsoft,
could cause disruptions in connecting to the internet and may prevent users
from reaching the internet altogether, even though the Network Connectivity
Status Indicator may show that the user is connected to the internet.
Microsoft is working on a resolution to this connectivity issue caused by the recent update and the solution should be provided in an upcoming update release.
